Home Sweet Home

Today was our last day on the bus for a while! We crossed the state line and the sign that says "Minnesota Welcomes You!" Our trip wouldn't be complete without a stop at a quilt shop, so we had to stop at Millie P's Quilt Shop in Anoka, MN. Randy our bus driver even picked up some fat quarters! Some of our quilters also got a special treat when many of their family members came to spend a little time together while they were in town. After a few hours, it was time to load the bus one last time. It was a great trip, I think everyone was happy to get home!

A special thanks to everyone who made this trip possible! There were many people who put in a countless number of hours working to make this trip a success. Now that we are home, it is time to thread the needle and start over again for the next trip!

Cranberry Country

Today we crossed the state line into Wisconsin. We traveled off the interstate to see the Cranberry Discovery Center, where we learned a lot about harvesting cranberries and found some treats! Some had ice cream, some sampled wine, but there was something "cranberry" for everyone! We even had the opportunity to see cranberry marshes up close at the Wetherby's. It was a very interesting experience, enjoyed by all.

We finished our night off with some friendly competition. With a bucket full of cranberries, we all tested our luck at making a cranberry "splat" mark on the target with a slingshot! It was a lot of fun and even some of the other hotel guests joined in on the fun!

We can definitely tell we are getting close to home, sweatshirts and coats are no longer in the suitcases! We are staying our last night in Tomah, WI before making our way home tomorrow.

Even other hotel guests wanted to join in on the fun!

Amish Country

Today we hit the road early to make it to Amish country in Arcola/Arthur, IL. We have spent a lot of time on the bus so far, but a lot of projects are getting done! Between sewing, crocheting, and knitting, there are many hands busy at work. Once we reached our destination, we made some stops at the local shops, and even found some fabric! There were many craft stores, some with finished projects and others that were not. There were many requests to not post some of the pictures, because the didn't want their husbands to know they are coming home with more fabric. At least we know its going for a good cause!

We also enjoyed a wonderful supper at a local Amish house. Doris and her husband made us quite the meal, with homemade bread, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and all the fixings. Oh, and did I mention pie for dessert! They even gave us buggy rides behind their horse, Chief.

Vonnie did it!
